Our Story

I remember standing in my hot 90º office with drops of sweat dripping down my forehead. The old heater/ac unit in my office couldn’t keep up with the 110º heat of the St George summer air. I was also feeling the heat from one of my newest clients as he lectured me on what he felt was me dropping the ball. I had been presenting the final design proof for his new website, which he loved. After that, I asked him for the copy and images to put in it. “What do you want on your website? What do you want it to say?,” I asked. “Send me your pictures and videos to put on it.” He peered at me with this sort of bewildered look and said, “I don’t know. Isn’t that your job? Aren’t you one that I’m paying to do it for me?” I couldn’t seem to find anything intelligible to say, so I just stood there listening, trying to look confident on the outside, while a sinking feeling filled my stomach. He was right, and I knew it. I needed to change the way I was doing business – the way I was serving my clients.

This was a turning point for me in my career and for Flitch. It was painfully obvious to me at that moment that I was failing my clients. I mean, does it make sense to design and code a website and then ask them for the content to fill it in? Isn’t that what they hired me to do in the first place? This was my “Aha moment”.

Flitch grew from two designers in 2008, to several multi-disciplined designers, brand strategists, a copywriter and additional coders by 2015. With each new specialist I added to my team, the better we were able to help our clients succeed! If this sounds like me tooting my own horn… I guess it is a little. The point I am making is that it was learning from our failures as a company that helped us develop the proven brand strategies that we employ today.

OUR VALUES

Take Care of Each Other

This is the first principle that all of the other principles are based. Leave your ego at the door and be ready to serve your fellow man. Look for ways to make the lives of those you work with easier. Be someone that is fun to work with. Always have each others back when the situation calls for it. We rise together. We don’t want employees that see Flitch as merely a job–a place to make money. We want people that love their work and those they work with.

About Jake ...

I was the kid that could sit in the basement corner of my childhood home and play with my legos for hours on end. Never bored, I would create my own fun and games by myself or with my three brothers. We built elaborate tree huts, hunted birds with our bb guns, swam in the chilly creek that ran through our farm, and ventured into the Southern Utah desert wilderness on our bikes in search of adventure. As a teenager, I played sports, went camping on the weekends with my friends, and led the student body as president at Beaver High School. I spent many long hours of hard work on our farm and ranch, while also working for other local farmers to earn my own spending money and save for an LDS mission and college. Growing up on a farm instilled in me the work ethic and competitiveness that I still have today. I love to win. It makes no difference whether it’s Monopoly or business, I want to win!

Currently, I enjoy date nights with my wife and running around to all of the activities our 4 kids are involved in. With three rowdy boys and one sweet daughter, life is never dull at the Albrecht household! I love cruising on my motorcycle with the wind in my face, and kickboxing classes several times a week at a local gym. I’m an unabashed lover of guns, cowboy movies, and the American way of life and constitution. I’m a man that needs only the simple things in life to be happy. With an ice cold Pepsi in hand, some sunflower seeds in my cheek, family and friends around me, and a blazing campfire, I’m the happiest man on the planet :)

About Jaimie ...

Hi, I’m Jaimie. I grew up in the small town of Enterprise, UT as the almost middle child in a large family. When I was younger, I never dreamed I would have a career that required hours in front of a computer. However, when I discovered the world of web programming in High School, I was hooked and haven’t looked back. Something most people don’t know about me is I was salutatorian of my High School class and was nominated for the Computer Science Student of the Year when I graduated from Dixie State University. I started at Flitch Creative right out of college and love the challenge of bringing our client’s vision to life. When I’m not at work, you can usually find me camping, reading, or hanging out with family. My husband and I love to travel and are looking forward to our next adventure if we can ever agree on what the destination should be.

About Katie ...
Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s caffeine. Growing up I was always the shy sweet girl who never went out on the weekends. However, I would go out almost every Saturday night my last year of high school to the local roller rink. I was a little speed racer jamming to 70’s/80’s Funk and 90’s Classics! I draw the sun in the corner of my paper, plan a month ahead for my Halloween costume, and stay up later than I should painting/watching “FRIENDS”! I love the 90’s and cook brownies at 2am when I can’t sleep. In 2011 I moved from Appleton, Wi to St George, Ut to attend Dixie State and graduated with a bachelors in Graphic Design in 2016. In collage I really grew out of my little bubble and met the greatest people I still know and love today. Since graduating when I’m not working I work on my paintings and occasionally sell custom painted shoes and other art pieces. To those asking what an average day looks like for me... The day starts with ignoring all my alarms then waiting till the last min to getting ready. I pick up my favorite vanilla chai then head to work.. After that it’s back home to the window, to the wall! To my comfy bed I crawl, down this big long hall, ahh, sleep sleep sleep sleep!
